Habitat Study in Year 4 in the River Ribble Estuary
Y4 visited @RSPB_Ribble and did some superb work learning about habitats, especially the mudflat habitat of the Ribble estuary. This was the start of our new habitats topic and the end of our rivers topic from last half term.
Using digimaps in our Year 4 river topic
Year 4 used digimaps to follow River Blakewater from its source to the sea.
Anglo Saxons Year 4
Year 4 had an Anglo Saxon visitor to learn more about life in Anglo Saxon time.
Year 4 Science-How fast do liquids flow?
Year 4 created a ramp and covered it in foil. Using a syringe they dropped different liquids onto the ramp and timed how long it took the liquid to reach the bottom of the ramp. They had to make sure it was a fair test.
Year 4 DT Making lights
Y4 are making lights in DT. We are using the knowledge that we learned in Science and applying it to our design brief. We have learned how to use new tools too. We will share photographs of the finished lights later.
Electricity in Year 4
In science Y4 have been making their own switches and completing a complete circuit.
Musical Instruments in DT Year 4
Y4 have enjoyed a couple of DT days. We worked as engineers, solved problems and created our own musical instruments using our scientific knowledge of sound. Then we recorded a video of us playing them for Y3 to enjoy, all projects need a purpose
Year 4 Trip to Blackburn Museum
Year 4 went to Blackburn Museum to learn even more about Ancient Egyptians.
